GoDaddy.com sold to KKR & Co., Silver Lake Partners and Technology Crossover Ventures for $2.25 billion

GoDaddy.com is the worlds biggest domain registration company and very popular for providing domain hosting services. GoDaddy announced on late Friday that it has been sold to three private equity firms,  KKR & Co., Silver Lake Partners and Technology Crossover Ventures.

 

Overall deal is worth $2.25 billion. Approximately half of the amount contains debt on GoDaddy.com. GoDaddy Chief Executive and founder Bob Parsons said in a press release, “We are partnering with KKR, Silver Lake and TCV because of their technology expertise, their understanding of web-based businesses and because their values align with ours”.

 

GoDaddy has seen significant growth over last three years. The sales has increased by 25% to $947 million from 2009 to 2010. The company projected growth for 2011 to continue that trend, with a target figure of $1.1 billion for the year.
