Motorola has already started to build prototypes of Xoom’s successor. Fudzilla, recently reported that Motorola is working on a Ice Cream Sandwich tablet.
Motorola Xoom was a huge success for company and released as a first Android Honeycomb tablet. The new Ice Cream Sandwich tablet is a 4:3 format device with a 2048 x 1536 screen. It is significantly thinner and lighter than Xoom.
The tablet might be out by the end of this year and the source didn’t knew what kind of chip is inside, but given that Motorola works closely with Nvidia, this tablet might end up with Tegra 3, Kal-El inside.
Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.0 is the newest version of Google’s popular Android operating system, specially being developed for mobile devices. Ice Cream Sandwich was announced in May at this year’s Google I/O. It combines best features of both branches, Gingerbread (optimized for smartphones) and Honeycomb (optimized for tablet) to form all-in-one, single operating system for both.
