Google Wallet was announced back in May and since then we were eagerly waiting for this new kind of payment system. Google posted a video last week featuring Google Wallet and it hinted about the launch but today, a leaked document on Techcrunch confirms it. The document above was sent out to partners and have launch date of 19th September clearly mentioned.

The product is only compatible with Nexus S 4G which is only available on Sprint in U.S. Google said the technology will be available for other phone models too but there is no news about it so far. As everything depends on NFC (Neat Field Communication) technology, merchants needs to install special hardware to support tap-and-pay with your Nexus S. MasterCard has been the only official partner on the credit card side of things so far but we should wait for what Google have to add more to this.

Google Nexus Prime is launching in the next month and it too will be NFC enabled and compatible for use as Google Wallet.
