Trend of 3D is spreading worldwide as more and more manufacturers adding support to devices like smartphones, tablets, TVs, laptops etc. Thrill and feel of 3D takes you right into the scene. Level of entertainment and satisfaction is higher than 2D. Only problem here is, very few people have 3D capturing cameras.
YouTube, most popular video streaming giant, noted this problem and today, announced a beta service that is capable of converting your 2D videos to 3D. You have to simply upload your normal videos captured with 2D digital cameras and YouTube will convert it to 3D. The feature internally uses new conversion tool that measures the motion and color of a single video to simulate depth and forms a 3D video. To be honest, quality is not that great but this is beta and it will improve over time.
YouTube also announced that anyone who is verified user, can upload videos longer than 15 minutes limit. They also confirmed their new video editing partnership with Magistro, as well as a partnership with effects/title editing tool Vlix.
