Google+ continues adding new features/enhancements to the young social network, this time an important privacy control. Now you can control who is allowed to notify you and who is not. Several Google+ users asked for this type of fine grained control over notification emails as too many of them certainly annoys any internet user. Google responded to this popular request with the privacy control that can do following things:
- Share with you individually
- Select ‘Notify about this post’ (when sharing to a circle you’re in)
- +Mention your name
- Invite you to a hangout
- Invite you to play or send you messages from a game
Generally you receive notifications when someone adds you in his/her circle or comments on your post. If you are a regular user of Google+ volume of notifications you get is large and many of them are useless. Following is the screenshot depicting how you can filter out useless notifications.
This is an awesome tool to control spammy notifications specially to those who have hundreds of followers and a lot of circles.
