Microsoft has just confirmed plans to launch its new Windows Phone Mango operating system on the market in India on October 12th and will take place in New Delhi. Evidently Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman, Microsoft India, will also be there, making this quite a big event.
Although phones such as the Dell Venue Pro and the HD7 have been available in India for sometime, official support for the OS, including the Marketplace, has not been available. HTC and Dell sold their phones in India without marketplace support which created a bad experience among consumers. But now, Microsoft has expanded its marketplace to India with Windows Phone Mango which is a good move and they are going to launch it officially.
We have already seen some of the recent Windows Phone launch like Fujitsu Toshiba’s Mango powered phone and quite recently we saw Samsung India Releasing Samsung Omnia W which is also powered by the Mango update which will hit the stores this November.
