After Facebook recently launched its Messenger application for iOS and Android devices, bringing a separate way to chat with your Friends from your phone, the social network is now launching the BlackBerry counterpart of the software.
The Android Facebook Messenger app also now includes support for 22 additional languages, and the iPhone app has added 12 new languages.
The app is really just a quick way to send messages to your friends through Facebook, and they are delivered through notifications and texts to their device. This way you won’t have to struggle deciding if you should send a text or email, and you’ll know the person will receive the message when they’re on the go.
You can also add an image and your location to messages, as well as turn off alerts for one hour or an entire day (great for getting a break from receiving constant alerts from a group chat that you’ve checked out of a long time ago). Add the fact that BB users now can partake, and you’ve got three of the four major platforms (sorry Windows Phone) that can chat for free, no ads, no extra fluff, using an app from a big name like Facebook.
