Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus — its 7-inch Honeycomb tablet — will be available Nov. 13 for $399. It’ll be available at Best Buy, Amazon, Tiger Direct, Fry’s and other retailers. Preorders start Oct. 23. The new Galaxy Tab 7 Plus features Android 3.2 Honeycomb and will come in both 16GB and 32GB variants.
As the name suggests, Tab 7.0 Plus features a 7.0″ 1026 x 600 resolution display (no 1280 x 800 here), Android 3.2 Honeycomb, 3 megapixel camera around back and a 2MP shooter on the front, a 1.2 GHz processor, and with 1GB of RAM.
One of the coolest features of the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus uses the built-in infrared connectivity to control home theaters and TV setups. Called Peel, it does not require any cables or additional hardware. Peel should work on any home entertainment system, regardless of manufacturer.
Who will be buying or is the low screen resolution enough to make you opt for something different?
