Motorola has announced two new Android tablets, the Motorola Xoom 2 and the Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition, are available in the UK and Ireland.
The Xoom 2 rocks a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 3.2, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage. It also offers up front and rear-facing cameras at 1.3 megapixel and five megapixel, respectively, plus Motorola’s new Splash-guard protection. The Xoom 2 has a 10.1-inch display and a better battery, allowing for 10 hours of “web usage,” which it pays for with its heavy weight of 599 grams.
Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition, on the other hand, features similar specs, save for its 8.2-inch display size and a battery that allows for 6 hours of web usage, and only weighs 386 grams. It also promises a 20-percent improvement over the original Xoom in the graphics performance.
Tablet fans in the U.K. and Ireland will be able to pick up a Xoom 2 of their choice in “mid-November.” Mototola hasn’t hinted at pricing structure yet, but a recent Carphone Warehouse ad pegs the at Media Edition as starting at €399.90 (roughly $522).
