ASUS just unveiled the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime will be known as either the Transformer Prime or simply “Prime”, which has a upcoming NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor that could make it the fastest tablet in the market. It was originally scheduled to be shown off on November 9th, but has been delayed until early December.
The ASUS Transformer Prime has a metallic swirl design (metallic spun finish) and the enclosure is made of aluminum that makes it feel durable and good in the hand. ASUS will be offering the Transformer Prime in two colors, so you have a choice between Amethyst Gray and Champagne Gold. Gaming will be like never before, and performance will be maximized all while still offering 12 hours of battery life.
The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime will be rocking a 10.1″ Super IPS+ display at 1280 x 800 resolution (with Gorilla Glass), 1GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, micro-SD and micro-HDMI support, and an 8 megapixel camera on the rear and a 1.2 front for video chat all wrapped in a brushed aluminum finish. Tablet will ship with Android 3.2 Honeycomb rather than the newer Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Transformer Prime will also be rocking an extremely thin form factor at just 8.3mm thin (0.33″) and weighs in at a mere 586g (1.29lbs). That is actually a hair thinner and lighter than the current champion in the Galaxy Tab 10, just for some comparison.
The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime, the world’s first quad-core tablet will be $499 for the 32GB model and $599 for the 64GB variant. The optional keyboard dock will also be priced at $149.
