Everyone in the tech world is expecting the ASUS’ Eee Pad Transformer Prime will be up for sale sometime in December, but new light has been shed on an even earlier release. Newegg computer retailer has the hotly anticipated slate for $499 in its 32GB reincarnation, and it marks the tablet for release date on December 8.
Currently available for pre-order, the Transformer Prime will be the first tablet to be capable of running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (even it’ll ship with Android 3.2 Honeycomb). The 10.1-inch tablet features a 1280×800 resolution screen made out of Gorilla Glass, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel with LED flash rear/1.2-megapixel front cameras, a microSD slot and a mini-HDMI port. The tab just weighs 586g and is 8.3mm thin.
Capacity options come in either 32GB or 64GB for $500 and $600, and it is available in gray or champagne respectively. An optional keyboard can also be purchased for $150. Interested parties can grab a piece of the Prime at the source link, below.
