The most spoken off tablet at the end of this year, the ASUS Transformer Prime, after many feared the tablet would be delayed until next year, reports now quote ASUS as saying with December 19th being the date it will officially start shipping to those who’ve pre-ordered it. If that holds true, it would be good news for consumers eager to snap up the Android tablet in time for the holidays. The Tablet will also hit Canadian street as early as Dec 20, instead of rumor emerged.

Apparently many online retailers sold out the 10.1-incher Transformer Prime, and I’ve also read about the rumors of a delay came about after online retailer NCIX had sold out of the device for pre-orders, and rumors of emails sent out to customers suggested that Wi-Fi issues were the cause for any delay getting the device out on time. If you haven’t pre-ordered your Asus tablet until now, you might be in queue, as there’s a very thin chance to actually be able to track one down.

Powered by Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, the Transformer is expected to cost $499 for a 32GB model and the higher 64GB model will cost $599. An additional keyboard dock can also be bought at $149.

Together with this confirmation, Asus also published its own video unboxing of the Transformer Prime, which we have included right below this post for your viewing pleasure.
