According to a recent report by DigiTimes, Apple intends to release two iPads in 2012 and both new iOS slates will pack 9.7-inch displays rather than the rumoured 7.85-inch display, the first one would be a high end iPad 3 with a 9.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels, dual LED light bars and a new Apple produced A6 processor, plus a Sony supplied 8 megapixel camera. And the other iPad, Apple will release will have similar specifications, and it will come with a Samsung made 5 megapixel camera and will be cheaper that the first model while the existing iPad 2 would continue as Apple’s low-end option, presumably with a reduced price to help it compete with inexpensive Android tablets.
Another rumor from the publication claims that the high-end version will have a higher capacity battery with 14,000 mAh pack that could allow an iPad to run for 20 constant hours. Apple currently uses battery suppliers Simplo Technology and Dynapack who both denied to comment on the report.
According to the same report from the publication, Apple will take the wraps off both a high-end and a mid-range iPad at the MacWorld|iWorld conference on Jan. 26, 2012.
Would you be willing to pick up an Apple iPad 3 if the features rumored above end up in production?
