Best Buy seems to have accidentally posted the upcoming Droid 4 to their main Reward Zone page. The advertisement shows that any members who decide to upgrade to the new phone will receive a 5,000 point bonus, equivalent to a rewards certificate. Verizon Wireless, however, still hasn’t officially announced the Motorola Droid 4.
The Android 2.3.5-powered Droid 4 is expected to be very similar to a Droid RAZR, but with a full QWERTY keyboard. Rumored specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, support for Verizon Wireless’s 4G LTE network and a 4-inch qHD display.
The Droid 4 was supposed to launch this month, but something held it up and ever since then, it has been appearing in Best Buy’s advertisements on multiple occasions.
One reason for this may be that VZW and Motorola want the new Droid to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich from day one – we’ll see soon if it happens or not. Let’s hope the wait for the Droid 4 won’t be much longer. As far as I can tell they’ll launch Droid 4 from the floor of CES 2012 in Las Vegas, which kicks off in less than two weeks. Stay tuned as we bring you more.
