If leaked renders are true, the Taiwanese company is expected to launch a 7-inch tablet, the Asus EEE Pad Memo at CES next week, though it’s unknown if that is just a “working name.”
Following on from Lenovo’s Cedar Trail based IdeaPad S110, the Eee PC Flare builds on designs ASUS previewed at Computex 2011, NotebookItalia reports, with styling cues borrowed from Ultrabooks and a choice of Intel and AMD processors.
The portrait-defined tablet looks to have a 1280×800 pixel display, a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, between 16 and 64GB of internal storage (likely at different price points) as well as options for 3G and WiFi-only models. There will also be a keyboard dock sold separately and, if you can believe it, there may be a 3D version to round out the selection. It’s unknown what version of Android it will be running, but more than likely it will launch with Ice Cream Sandwich.
There are expected to be at least two different models unveiled at CES, we should have some more information on these new Netbooks next week. Naturally, we’ll be bringing you more as we get it. Stay tuned.
