Toshiba has announced the US availability of the 10.1-inch slate device at some point during the first quarter of 2012. The AT200 tablet is expected to be making its presence at the CES scheduled from the today.
Announced four months ago as the Regza AT700, the Excite x10 latest tablet running on the dual-core 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor, this tablet appears to be one of the most compact slates with a weight of 535g, thinness measuring only 7.7mm.
Packaged in a stylish body which features a high-quality magnesium alloy surface on the back and scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass with an anti-smudge coating on the display, the Excite X10 boasts 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 (16:9 ratio) Autobrite Display, 1GB LPDDR2 RAM, 5.0MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, and 2.0MP front-facing camera. The OS right now is Android 3.2, also known as Honeycomb, though Toshiba is claiming it to be Android 4.0 ICS ready.
Two configurations with either 16GB or 32GB of storage space are available, while the rest of the specs list includes Micro HDMI, Micro USB, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.
The pricing is standard as well, the 16GB model will retail for $529.99 and the 32GB for $599.99.
