As promised, MasterImage 3D at CES announced two new glasses-free 3D displays for smartphones and tablets.
Their smartphones screen will offer a 720p resolution for a nice clear HD picture. While for the tablets company’s offering is a 10.1 inch screen with a WUXGA (1920×1200) resolution — and it says its new cell-matrix parallax barrier technology provides brighter images, better image quality, and wider viewing angles.
“This technology is truly pioneering for the 3D industry,” says MasterImage 3D executive vice president Roy Taylor. “Never before has anyone seen 3D resolution on a smartphone or tablet that looks so compelling and amazingly beautiful and doesn’t need glasses.”
MasterImage says the new 3D displays should show up in devices in the second half of the year, and we’re looking forward to seeing if hardware manufacturers line up. Stay tuned.
