Everyone was impressed when Huawei showed off their Ascend P1 and Ascend P1 S smartphones at CES 12. With the P1 S sporting a 1.5GHz TI OMAP processor, Ice Cream Sandwich, 8 megapixel rear shooter and 1 GB of RAM, it sure looked like that Huawei is getting serious in the smartphone business. Now it seems that the guys at Huawei are preparing a couple of even more powerful smartphones and the Ascend phones now will be followed by Diamond series of smartphones.
According to Huawei Device chairman Richard Yu, the Diamond series will be introduced at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona between February 27 and March 1 and could be thrown into the European market as soon as the end of March, a statement given to Twice.
So, the new Diamond series is going to be much better than the Ascend series. I am guessing Dual-Core [or maybe Quad-Core] Android smartphones. Stay tuned for more.
