LG has started releasing long awaited Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update to LG Optimus Black in India and Europe, while Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich update is on the way (an approximate roll-out date set out for 2012), according to LG India. However, Android 2.3.4 update is only available via LG software update tool.
The new update brings several important enhancements and performance improvements such as Improved power management, Enhanced mobile gaming experience, Improved UI to enable faster access and control and a more intuitive user experience, One-touch word selection and copy/paste, Better Download management, Support for new media formats such as AAC, AVC, MPEG 4 and H263. Along with new features included such as Active app management, shortcuts, widgets, icons, app groups, updated calendar options, camera geotagging, better email synching and more precise camera auto-focus, App updates and pre-loaded Google Plus app.
