Sony has unveiled updated VAIO notebook computers for the spring of 2012, and the list of the refreshed Netbooks comprise of the Z, S, E and C series. The new machines have new options for the user to choose from, and some of the notebooks get new style and colors as well.

The Sony VAIO Z series will now offer built-in LTE mobile broadband and a new Carbon Fiber Silver exterior as options. Under the hood are Intel’s latest 2nd generation Core processors ranging from the Intel Core i5 up to the Core i7 with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 3.50 GHz, and RAID 0 solid state drives (SSDs). Prices will start at $1,949.99 including the Power Media Dock drive.
The Sony VAIO S series and Sony VAIO E series also get some very minor CPU upgrades, to more recent versions of the second-generation Intel Core-i CPUs, but you’d be hard-pressed to tell the difference. The VAIO S, available in 13 and 15-inch models [the 15-inch model will come standard with a 15.5″ Full HD display (1920 x 1080) with IPS technology], is mostly notable for its optional slice battery and switchable AMD graphics. Prices start at $799.99 for the 13″ S series and $979.99 for the 15″ S series, and they will be available early February.

Finally, the Sony VAIO C series has a couple of new lid designs, named Kaleidoscope Pink and Modern Geometric. Sony will offer the new design on 14-inch and 15.5-inch C series machines.
