An image of the Sony ST25i Kumquat leaked online a few days ago (Image shown above) – seems to be the little brother to the Xperia S as it has rumoured to come with the same overall design, but with a 3.5-inch multi-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, 1GHz dual-core processor and 5MP camera.

The new leak suggests something about the possible nomenclature system Sony may adopt when the device hits the markets. Based on reliable sources, it is learnt that Sony Ericsson Kumquat (ST25i) will be hitting the markets with a comparatively easier name Sony Ericsson Xperia U, the news comes from the Indonesian equivalent of the FCC.

We should have full details next month at MWC 2012 along with details of Sony’s other new Android devices which we have been hearing about over the last few weeks. Stay tuned.
