The Liquipel, a California-based company boasts of a Nano-coating system for mobile device, is said to bring its technology to next generation Apple iPhone (dubbed as iPhone 5), and upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III Android Smartphone.
The new Liquipel moisture repelling technology was demoed at CES event this year in Las Vegas. The new technology could be given to handsets ensuring that when caught in heavy rain or taking an unwanted trip into a puddle or toilet bowl devices remain unscathed and no longer the victim of a watery based demise. It covers both the inside and outside of the phones to make it water-repellent, according to Today’s iPhone.
The waterproof upcoming handsets would be treated internally with a thin layer of Liquipel’s material that prevents water molecules from ever contacting sensitive electronic components.
So, if Apple and Samsung have truly signed on to include this Liquipel Waterproof Coating technology, we could see it take the market by storm in 2012 and beyond. Stay tuned for more.
