Amazon seems to expand its Kindle lineup and more directly take on Apple’s new iPad with a new 10 inch Kindle Fire tablet, which is set to be launched in the second quarter of this year, according to a report. It’s not all though, as a new 6-inch color E Ink eReader will be launched, too, next month, according to a separate but related report.
For the 10 inch Kindle Fire, Foxconn has been contracted to carry out manufactory duties for the larger latter, while the ODM for the original Fire, Quanta Computer, will continue limited production of last year’s release.
As of the new 6 inch color E Ink eReader, it might be Amazon’s best eBook reader to the date, as it is expected to feature a color E Ink display. This could be a bridge between traditional eInk eReaders and color LCD models like the Kindle Fire. It could mean better graphics magazines and eBooks without the drawback of decreased battery life.
