AT&T has announced that Sony’s dual-screened, folding, Nintendo DS-inspired Tablet P will be available on March 4th. The version of AT&T will be HSPA+ “4G” capable tablet, so you can expect amazingly fast connection speeds whenever you are under the right network connection.
Powered by a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, clocked at 1GHz, the Sony Tablet P packs 1GB RAM, 4GB of internal storage (expandable up to 32 GB), and Android 3.2 Honeycomb (upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich soon).
Each of the tablet’s two 5.5-inch screens has a 1024×480 resolution, and the device has two cameras: 0.3 megapixels on the front, and 5 megapixels on the back. Along with the Android Market, the Tablet P is PlayStation Certified and has access to the Sony’s entertainment suite and services.
The Tablet P will be available for $399.99 on AT&T’s HSPA+ network with a two-year contract (minimum monthly payments are $35 for 3GB of data), or $549.99 without a contract. Talking about plans; prepaid customers can also pick from a $14.99 250 MB plan, as well as a cheaper $30 plan for 3 GB or 5 GB for $50.
