Samsung and Panasonic are both reportedly exploring the idea of smart cameras that’ll be powered with Google’s Android OS.
Considering Samsung’s love for Google’s Android operating system, it won’t be a surprise if one day Samsung comes up with Android-based digital cameras.
Samsung reportedly is setting a new bar for its 2012 compact cameras by integrating Wi-Fi connectivity for a snap-and-share experience, if recent Engadget’s report is to be believed. The tech giant recently spent some time touring Samsung Korea’s headquarters where it learned that the manufacturer’s R&D department is considering an “open” camera operating system and the company is filing for a trademark for “Galaxy Camera”, hence expanding the Galaxy family even more.
