While back in January, we were kept wondering for an Ice Cream Sandwich to Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy S II in sometime in Q1 2012, the Samsung only managed to keep part of the promise by releasing the ICS update for Galaxy S II around the world. However in the recent announcement, Samsung also mentioned other devices (includes Galaxy Note also) that are touted to receive the same Android 4.0 upgrade in due time, but an official release wasn’t confirmed.
Recently responding on Facebook to a subscriber’s question about ICS on the Galaxy Note, the Samsung Norway confirmed that Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich update will be released in second quarter for Galaxy Note (screenshot shown below).
The reason of being late is worth that Samsung may have decided to iron out bugs before releasing it for the Phablet device.
If you can’t wait for an official release, I guess, there is always the possibility of having an unofficial Ice Cream Sandwich ROM pop up somewhere.
