Motorola’s rumored Droid Fighter has been spotted for the first time with a sign of an at once familiar and new strategy for Motorola. A leaked image (pictured to the left) seems to offer a first peek at the handset.
Looking very similar to the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX, it features the same form factor of the latter the only difference being a larger display and the lack of capacitive buttons at the bottom of the phone. According to the Phone HK, the Motorola DROID Fighter boasts a 4.6-inch HD display. The screen is also said to be “high-definition” (probably 720p) – we’re guessing 1280×720 – with the battery coming in at 3,300mAh, just like the Razr MAXX.
Therefore it’s pretty much a given that it will be launched running Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich, the version of Google’s OS which supports software-rendered on-screen Android keys.
There is speculation that the Droid Fighter handset could land in April. And it would be the third RAZR variant to arrive at Verizon in about six months. We’ll keep our ears to the ground, though.
