The Noida-based Apple Group’s Zync revealed a new tablet today at an event held in Mumbai (India). Called the Zync Z-990, the new slate doesn’t only offer you the Google’s latest OS, so called Ice Cream Sandwich, but pretty decent hardware configuration at a very affordable price, which is tagged for Rs 8,990 (approx $178). The sales pack also includes some free accessories like Sleeve Pouch, Screen Guard, Earphones and USB Cable.
The device boasts of full 1080p video playback and the ability to connect it to a TV using the HDMI port on it. Keyboard, mouse and even storage flash drives can be connected using the USB port.
Featuring a 7-inch TFT Capacitive Touch Screen display, the Zync tablet is powered by 1.2 GHz processor. Other specs include 4GB in-built memory (expandable up to 32 GB), 0.3 MP front camera for video calling with MSN and Skype, a powerful 3600 mAh battery, 3.5 mm audio jack and microphone, and Multi-format (MP4/MPEG/ MP3/WAV/WMA) media player.
Weighing just at 380g, the Zync Z 990 tablet is coupled by 1GB of RAM and of course support for Android Market (Google Play) and Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich OS to run with. The device also features Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, HDMI port, and Micro USB 2.0 port. The Zync Z990 also comes with 3G support through a dongle.
The Z990 Android 4.0 tablet is being sold across a number of online shopping services in India, such as Letsbuy.com, Yebhi.com and Homeshop18.com. There’s also a warranty of a year with the slate, which includes pick-up and drop, in case something goes wrong with it.
