Rumors on Google’s own tablet still continue to pour in, but nothing is certain for the moment. While we were kept wondering, Google’s first Android tablet to be co-branded with ASUS might debut in June, the new Google tablet is now said to have been pushed back to July so that it can tweak its hardware and lower its price tag, according to “sources close to the project.”
If today’s report holds true, it appears that the Nexus tablet is currently priced at $249 (190 EUR), which is way higher than prices suggested by earlier reports.
Gathering all the info, we seem to be dealing here with a device that sports 7 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display, WiFi and the NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset (considering the current price). No cellular modem will be included and the OS is Ice Cream Sandwich, or maybe even Android 5.0, that’s expected to be shown at I/O 2011 in June.
It’s not the first and probably not the last rumor, we’re hearing to. Check back often here at Techsnapr for your surprising pleasure with yet another leak.
