As expected, Sony has made official Sony Tablet S Ice Cream Sandwich update. The company has taken to YouTube to post a video of ICS on the tablet in action, outlining the new features you can expect.
The owners of the 9.4-inch slate should see a popup notification prompting the update, which will be delivered over the air, and they should be prompted to install the update once they’re connected to Wi-Fi.
The first change you’ll notice after updating is that Android Ice Cream Sandwich now displays your notifications on the lock screen, providing direct access to all the applications that are vying for your attention. New update also brings better photography controls including a panorama mode, an overhauled gallery and something Sony is called “Small Apps,” widgets that are accessible from within any app. You can also go here to know more, about new changes which new upgrade bringing to your device.
If this is your cue to grab the Tablet S, you’re in luck: from now through May 12, Sony will offer a $50 instant rebate (knocking the 16GB model to $349 and the 32GB version to $449) and a free cradle accessory.
Rather than mumble on about why Ice Cream Sandwich is great, we’ll let the video below do the talking.
