Google’s first foray into the hotly contested tablet was started with a statement of Google’s chairman Eric Schmidt. Wherein, we heard several rumors claiming the price and processor for the Tablet. The new 7 inch Google tablet, which is being developed in partnership with Asus, is now expected to be released in June, according to the rumour king Digitimes.
Google, however, originally planned to unveil the tablet in May, but the company had some trouble with its design and the costs didn’t fit the original brief, as I mentioned above. According to the source, initial shipments will reach about 600,000 units, although it will try to achieve 2-2.5 million in total 2012 shipments. So the tablet isn’t supposed to be in user hands until July.
No hardware or software details were revealed, but we expect the presence of Wi-Fi connectivity and Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS to run with. The slate may be unveiled at Google’s annual I/O conference, which kicks off on June 27. We’ll keep our ears to the ground on the matter, stay tuned.
