Chip maker Nvidia is getting ready for a flurry of smartphones powered by its Tegra 3 quad-core application processor to make this an exciting year. Speaking at the company’s annual investor meeting, NVIDIA’s GM, Mike Rayfield has revealed that the company is expecting to see a whopping 30 quad core Tegra 3 powered devices by the end of 2012 and some of them will ship with its Icera-based i410 LTE baseband.
He explained that 13 of the aforementioned 30 devices would arrive on shelves with a transfer price of under $300. We suspect the availability of a few more Tegra 3 smartphones will help NVIDIA’s cause greatly, especially in India and other Asian countries.
At the moment, we do not have any details on these new different smartphones that will be powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 quad core processor, but we’ll keep our eyes on if any detail about them emerges, so check back with us at a later date for more info.
