Apple to Drop Google Maps
Sources say that Apple to Drop Google Maps app in the iOS 6 and is going to replace it with a complete in-house maps application. This is a new headline feature that will be in the iOS 6. The design of the application is quite similar or a partial replica of the current Google maps feature on the iOS devices. But the new in-house map application will be much more cleaner, fast and durable.
Apple has a complete control of the iOS Maps application design the other belongs to Google. Now, even this will change as iOS 6 will have Place base, C3 and Poly9 technologies. These are the technologies that were used by apple in the development of the new map app. The app has been very ideally named as “Maps”. Though apple and google made an extended deal prior to the launch of the iOS 5 but now the deal ends with the launch of iOS 6.
There is a complete application rewrite and so there is going to be a new logo for iOS maps. It will be a remade version of the actual version of iOS maps icon. There will be a new colour scheme and a also there will be a replacement of Google street view.
A wonderful aspect of the new maps application is that it will be in a new mode that is a 3D mode. The 3D mode has to be activated by the users using the 3D button because it is not the default mode.
iOS 6 will be launched with new and rebuilt iOS features in mid-June during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference. There is surely a keen watch and a desperate wait for the iOS 6 by the Apple users. This is going to be a yet new innovation by Apple.
