Download iOS 6 for iPad, iPhone and iPod
Apple WWDC event, however, was not resulted in a next-generation iPhone announcement, but it gave us glimpse at what most of you’ve been waiting for. Yes! I’m talking about iOS 6. Apple, on Monday, revealed the beta version of the new OS and as usual the firmware has now been seeded.
The new Apple iOS 6 includes more than 200 new features compared to iOS 5.
The new features include Apple’s new Maps software, as well as for Siri it includes support for additional languages, Facebook integration into iOS for Contacts and Calendar, and allows users to post direct to Facebook from Apple’s Notification Center in iOS.
While iOS 6 beta is only available to registered members of Apple’s developer program, the interested users with a developer account can now download iOS 6 beta from Apple’s developer site.
For the rest of you, head on over to Apple’s iOS Dev Center and grab yourself a seat, some popcorn, and a healthy web connection to download the heck out of iOS 6. And, if you’re not a member of Dev Center, you might have to sign up which costs $99/year. Once again, namely iOS 6 beta 1 build 10A5316k, this is a beta version.
However this beta version supports the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch 4th gen, iPad 2, and iPad 3. As for the Apple TV there’s a separate version of iOS 6 available for both the Apple TV 2G and 1080p Apple TV 3G, which requirements for installing iOS 6 is simply iTunes 10.6.3 which was releases recently.
The official iOS 6 software update is expected to be releases publicly this fall (maybe in September or October 2012), likely around the same time-frame the upcoming iPhone launches.
We’ll be sure to keep you guys posted if official things come in to the lime-light, so check back often here at TS for more.
