Google and ASUS partnered and announced together the most anticipated tablet. Dubbed Nexus 7, the new slate is powered by a Tegra 3 quad core processor.

The Nexus 7 tablet is flavored by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, which was also announced at Google I/O Conference. As its name suggest, the slate has a 7-inch HD display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. Also bringing the power of 9 hours of HD video playback, the Google tablet features a 1.2-megapixel front camera, 1GB of RAM, and a 4,325mAh battery.

Google-ASUS Nexus 7 tablet also sports WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC support. The slate only weighs 340gm. The Chrome browser will come pre-loaded with the device.

Google’s also announced that pre-orders will be available starting later today on the Google Play Store, and all who pre-order will get a $25 gift card to spend in the Play Store.

Available in black or white, an 8GB version will be priced at $199, with 16GB for $249 and it will be shipping in mid-July in US, UK, Canada and Australia, according to report. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
