Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean Update Begins Rolling Out

Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean

Just days after the Jelly Bean equipped Samsung-built super phone went back on sale at the Play Store — Google, a few minutes ago over on Nexus Google+ page, announced the availability of Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean update. Starting with HSPA+ connected Galaxy Nexus devices; the new Google Now equipped Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update will also be available to GSM Galaxy Nexus owners (just after its addition to AOSP).

Google notes on the list “all Galaxy Nexus devices” so hopefully all versions ((presumably the CDMA/LTE models), as well as the Nexus S and Motorola Xoom are due to receive Jelly Bean next.

The latest Android 4.1.1 has already been deployed to Nexus 7 slate a matter of minutes ago. So you should expect to receive an OTA prompt sometime within the “next several days.”

Those hoping to snag it now should head to settings > about phone > check for updates or for an over-the-air (OTA) prompt to update.

Meanwhile, if you’re curious about what’s new in Jelly Bean, check out our Jelly Bean feature article.
