Nexus S Jelly Bean

While some owners of Galaxy Nexus handset were lucky enough to get a taste of the latest butter smooth Jelly Bean OS, the Nexus S owners were left waiting. So apparently now the Galaxy Nexus S Jelly Bean update is next in line. Two major but different carriers — SFR in France, and Vodafone in Australia – confirmed the same.

While the Nexus S Jelly Bean update is being rolled out today to some lucky owners via over-the-air (OTA), many of you might want to wait for it. The update is available from today, July 19, which may also signal an international rollout for GSM models at the same time. The new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade should ping your over via notification. Though, if you don’t get it via OTA, there’s no harm to start manually checking for update on your device and pull it down.

That said; you can head over to Menu >Settings >About Phone, that is and you are there to check it out.

While SFR should deploy the update sometime today, the Vodafone Australia will start the rollout July 19 at 1pm AEST time.

Meanwhile, it’s also worth mentioning that those with Nexus S in the US could start seeing the latest upgrade as soon as this evening.
