Back in March, we saw Android 4.0.3 ICS (alpha build) was ported to Nokia N9 via NITDroid devs, now what it looks like the developers are already working on Nokia N9 Jelly Bean update.
Nokia may have given up on the MeeGo OS based N9 but the devs community will not let it go so easily. A screenshot posted recently on Twitter by Alexey Roslyakov from NITDroid Team confirmed that Jelly Bean update for Nokia N9 is coming soon.
Judging by the image (above), the Android v4.1.1 is installed on White N9. I’m not quite sure what new features or performance this new upgrade will be bringing to the handset. Though, I do know that the latest OS brought some major performance boost to the Android ecosystem. So we can expect same with the N9.
We’ll keep you guys posted on the matter. Stay tuned.
Note: If you want your Nokia N9 running Android, you might want to check Android 4.0.4 Alpha Release #4 before thinking about 4.1 too much. You can see installation instructions and talk on NITDroid forum; I also recommend heading over to the Maemo.org talk Grand NITDroid thread. Good luck
