Unveiled back in June, the Microsoft Surface Tablet Release Date has been confirmed by the company itself. Filling its annual report, Microsoft revealed that the next version of company’s OS, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012 and the Surface tablet Release Date will coincide.
That’s not a huge surprise given that a platform needs devices at launch, but it’s definitely good news for those waiting the Windows 8/RT devices.

The company will be launching two models of its Surface tablet, a version running Windows RT using ARM processors and an Intel based Pro version running Windows 8 Pro (expected to debut around 90 days later after the slate launch date).
Running Windows 8 and paired with a slick keyboard case, the Surface tablet is presumably an iPad competitor.
Although no words on pricing, Microsoft has claimed the slate will cost a “competitive” amount. Stay tuned for more.
