Moving from Children business, the Archos seems to be entered in Android tablet foray. After visiting the FCC, it looks like the entry-level Archos 97 Carbon Android tablet is up for grabs online at the company’s store.
Sporting a 9.7-inch (1024 x 768) display, a single-core 1.0 GHz processor, the ARCHOS Carbon tablet is flavored by Android 4.0 ICS. It also has 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 2MP rear snapper as well as a VGA front-facing shooter.
Other specs include micro-USB, micro-SD, HDMI out and a few other connectivity options too.
In my opinion, the specs of the slate seem so much lower than (competing) other tablets – one of them is Nexus 7 — while costing a similar price I don’t see it ending well.
Priced at $229 (with a $20 discount), it might not be the best around, but it’s a decent little budget offering. Still interested to picking one up? Head over to Archos to order one now.
