Just like iTunes, Google Play Store will be getting gift cards too. Additionally, Google will also have wishlist options in the Play Store. That’s all what iTunes has had for years, and I’ve been dying to see on Android.
Recently, folks over at Android Central slipped a few pictures (shown above) of what they appear to be $10 and $25 priced Google Play Gift Cards, clearly branded for Google Play.
Now that a few pictures appeared of the actual gift cards that Google will start selling, there was a question in the wild “when we can purchase them?” To please your patience, now we have a few out in the wild and some reports on when we can expect Google to launch this service.
Once again, the folks from Android Police received a Google Play Store $25 gift card after a reader purchased it at Target as shown below.

Moreover, Google Play Gift Cards are already available to purchase at Target (image below). That said, many different Target stores are already putting up the Google Play gift cards up for sale, confirms a report.

According to some reports and a screenshot (shown below) obtained by AP, confirmed that Google will be officially launching these gift cards on August 26. And they will be available from Target, Walmart, GameStop, TRU and a few others, while BestBuy is planning to offer them sometime next year. Keep an ear to Techsnapr for more information.
