It was reported way back in August that the upcoming iOS 6 will not have the pre-installed YouTube App by default. And soon after, Apple claimed that Google was working on its own app. Today is the day, the new iOS YouTube App can be found in the App Store.

The new app has been built by the Google with the help of YouTube engineers. At the moment, the app only runs well on an iPhone or iPod touch. But an iPad optimized app is said to be under development, and will be out soon.

Again, if you’re an iPad owner and want to give the YouTube app a whirl, you would have to run it in 2x mode.
