Now that student’s or teenager’s life style has been grabbed by modern gadgets from manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung and Sony; there are still some electronic giants which are trying to get focused in gadgets era, at least to mean business.

That said; HP, on Monday, has unveiled a new Windows 8 powered ElitePad 900 tablet for businessmen.

ElitePad 900 Back Aluminum ChassisFeaturing a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 equipped 10.1-inch (1280 × 800p) diagonal capacitive display with 16:10 aspect ratio, the new HP ElitePad 900 is made by CNC-machined aluminum chassis, which lets users experience a good build quality.

A 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2760 processor coupled by 2GB of RAM is powering the device with the help of a 2-cell (25 Whr) battery for long run-time smooth experience.

The slate also features an 8MP rear snapper with LED flash, and a 1080p front-facing shooter with digital dual array microphones. Other features also include 32GB or 64GB on-board memory, MicroSD card for storage expansion, WiFi, Bluetooth, HSPA+, GPS and NFC, and stereo speakers along with SRS audio. Users can also opt for 3G/4G with hotspot support.

HP is also throwing a range of software clients for enterprise-grade security; which include HP Client Security17: Security Manager, Credential Manager, Password Manager,18 Device Access Manager with Just In Time Authentication, Computrace,13 SpareKey,14 Drive Encryption, HP BIOS Settings.

In addition, HP also offers a self maintenance program, which lets users repair the tablet in-house, without exposing sensitive data heading outside.

ElitePad 900 Smart Jacket

Moreover, a number of interesting optional accessories will be offered by HP; wherein a Productivity jacket includes a keyboard, additional connectivity ports, and SD card reader. Apart from this, there’s also another accessory called ElitePad Expansion jacket, which lets you boost the slate′s battery life by about 80 percent [for a total of up to 18 hours of run time]; along with adding USB, HDMI and other ports. The smart jackets also help protecting the tablet from scratches, scrapes, and drops.

ElitePad 900 Digital PenAdditionally, a Multitouch capacitive digitizer, optional digital pen can be bought by users who like to write messages directly on the display, keep in mind the handwriting can be converted to text or saved as is.

Measuring 0.36 inches, the ElitePad 900 tablet weighs about 1.5 pounds without smart jacket.

Boasting a one year of standard warranty, the ElitePad 900 will be retailing in January 2013. No words on pricing yet, though we’ll keep an ear out for a follow-up post on the info. Stay tuned.
