NTT DoCoMo, on Thursday, revealed Sharp AQUOS PHONE ‘SH-02E ZETA’; grabbing the title of “World’s first Smartphone to use IGZO display.”
To remind you, the IGZO stands for ‘Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide’ which is designed by Sharp to provide a higher translucency panel. Not only the IGZO display will provide increased brightness, it will also drain less battery power.
Featuring a 4.9-inch (1280 x 720p) IGZO TFT display, the new NTT DoCoMo-bound Sharp AQUOS phone packs a monstrous 16MP rear snapper with LED flash along with a 1.2MP front-facing shooter.
Powered by a quad core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor — coupled by an Adreno 320 GPU — the phone will be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Other connectivity features also include WiFi, LTE (100Mbps/37.5Mbps up/down) and NFC with mobile payment support. It will also support both 1seg and NOTTV broadcasting.
There’s also a 2,320 mAh battery to keep it all running.
Moreover, the new Sharp AQUOS Zeta phone will be both dust and waterproof (IP57, IP5X). It is expected to go on sale later this year.
