Not long ago Nokia CEO Stephen Elop unleashed some credence to the Microsoft-bound Surface phone in an investor call, it would appear that the handset has been photographed now.

Per Elop, the new upcoming Microsoft Surface phone will be good for the Windows Phone 8 ecosystem. That said; not only the handset will feature a gorgeous design, but it will also bring a boost to the WP8 ecosystem — rather than the poor hardware that OEMs were trying to snag the hope out with.

Moving on — putting rumors to the rest — what it looks like the phone has been leaked in new pictures, ported by Microsoft itself.

Interestingly however the unbranded device does not look anything like any phone we have seen before, and the rather square design looks a lot close to the Surface than anything else.

On the other hand, rumor has it that Microsoft Surface phone will follow the launch of Microsoft Surface Pro tablets, which is rumored to happen soon (maybe on Oct 26). But so far Microsoft hasn’t spoken a single word on the issue.
