If you’re one of those who have criticized Apple for not bringing the iPad mini into the Retina fold already, then your choice might have been appreciated. That said; AU Optronics (AUO), one of the Apple’s suppliers of current iPad mini tablet’s panel, reportedly will be starting mass production of 2048x1536p resolution 7.9-inch screens for the second-generation iPad mini (or iPad mini2) by the H2 2013.
Moreover, the screen will be packing an eye-pleasing pixel density of 324 ppi. Though, Apple didn’t comment on the same.
We can’t bet on IGZO-equipped Sharp display to be used in the next mini slate – no matter AUO’s breakthrough has been in adopting IGZO – though I’m going to venture a guess and say that the upcoming iPad Mini2 will be powered by A6X processor that’s currently used in the iPad 4; as this has been Apple’s way of doing things in the mobile world ever. Moving on, you shouldn’t expect the next iPad mini shipping until the Q4 of 2013, the insiders claim. Thoughts?
