As promised, Sony has introduced its Android Jellybean-running behemoth, the Sony Xperia Z — an iPhone5 and Galaxy S3 competitor (as the Japanese electronics-maker is brave enough to call it). Featuring a stunning Full (1920 x 1080p) HD 5-inch display, the phone houses a 1.5GHz quad-core S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB internal memory, which of course can be expanded via MicroSD slot. Along with dual (13MP back/ 2.2MP front) shooters, the NFC and LTE connectivities are also present inside Sony’s rectangular 0.31-inch thin handset.
Meanwhile, IP55 and IP57 certification is also welcomed enhancement stateside and means the phone can be submerged in water without suffering damage. To be more specific; it can sit in a depth of one meter of water for up to 30 minutes.
The Sony’s PlayStation-certified handset can be grabbed in the UK starting March 1st, through online retailer Phones4U — with pre-registration starts today. Meanwhile, the Clove Technology is taking Xperia Z preorders for £528, Unlocked/SIMFree, here in White and Black.
Additionally, UK’s O2, Vodafone and Three also will be offering the device. Dates are somewhat lacking, as is any indication of price. As always, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more. Stay tuned.
