Nokia tablet

It was way back in mid-March last year, when we started hearing rumors about a Nokia tablet, which many of us believed to be wrapped off by year’s end. But it didn’t happen.

Then in early May, Nokia’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Jorma Ollila, left us hoping again for a Windows 8 tablet; wherein he referred the company’s plan for a fall time-frame. Though nothing was concrete, we were holding off our breathes that in meanwhile Nokia did comment on the rumors. The company did put the rumors to rest, revealing that Nokia has no plans of a tablet, as of yet, as they want to focus on Smartphones market.

We don’t know whether the Finnish company holding on a tablet just because Microsoft’s slab is flooding the market. And since the Nokia is under a contract with Redmond-based company regards Windows platform, nothing but they’re hopeless, maybe. But that can’t stop us dreaming, right?

Obviously! This is what brought us an in-development Nokia tablet rumor from our fellow site, The Verge. A few weeks ago, the folks over at The Verge reported that the yet-to-be-finished tablet from Nokia is under pipeline for a Mobile World Congress (MWC) unveiling later this month — still not to mention that suspected 7-inch tablet glimpse from Nokia’s event in Pakistan.

But again, Nokia has commented on that rumor revealing that it’s not any Nokia-specific products, but merely representations of Microsoft’s various user interfaces (shown above).

However, we’ve heard official words from Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop, as he revealed that a 10.1-inch Nokia tablet is being developed.

There’s no telling whether it will be Windows 8-powered or might be named after Lumia series, as “Lumia tab”. Keep it tuned with Techsnapr for more on the matter.
