HTC today has launched its new HTC Desire 500 Jelly Bean smartphone in the UK. The phone will be available for purchase sometime later this month. Powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, the Desire 500 packs a 4.3-inch LCD screen with WVGA (800 x 480) resolution. Other specs on the device include 1GB of RAM, 4GB of expandable (upto 64GB) storage, and an 1800 mAh battery which HTC claims is good for some 12 hours of talk time on 3G.
It also has an 8-megapixel shooter on back along with a 1.6-megapixel front-facer. HTC has included the latest version of Sense 5 top of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The new HTC Sense 5 software brings BlinkFeed home screen reader and automatic video highlights features (a 30 second video reel of your images) to the phone.
The phone can be grabbed in lacquer black and glacier blue in the country. The company has also promised Desire 500 DualSIM and NFC variants launch later on.
